Rival takeover bid for Newcastle from American TV boss
It has been rumoured that an American TV boss has sent over a rival bid for Newcastle, if the Saudi takeover falls. A £350 million bid from Henry Mauriss, American TV chief, who has reportedly been in talks with current Newcastle owner Mike Ashley since last year.
The offer will only be contemplated if the Saudi bid falls through, as it stands the Saudi £300 million bid to buy St James Park must still pass the Premier League’s proper persons test before the deal can go through and the contract be signed.
If the £300 million buy goes through Newcastle will become the wealthiest club in the premier league in front of the likes of Man City and Chelsea.
