Rio Ferdinand Foundation partners with LDN UTD

The Rio Ferdinand Foundation has partnered with esports organisations LDN UTD to host the LDN UTD Inter-Borough Esports Championships. Former professional footballer Rio Ferdinand founded the two organisations with the aim to tackle youth unemployment through engagement with esports.

The championships will also see FaZe Clan’s Tassal ‘Tass’ Rushan, he is a renowned FIFA competitor with over 250,000 subscribers. He will be speaking to attendees and will be giving an insight into the industry.

The competitions will see young people from all over London including Hackney, Kingston, Lambeth and Lewisham boroughs to participate in FIFA21 and NBA 2K21 competitions. All attendees will have the chance to view a number of different digital workshops around employability and skills needed to get a career in Esports.

The workshops are set to be run by multiple different universities which have partnered with the event, these universities include Staffordshire University, University of Salford and University of East London.
