Premier League: This week’s completed transfers

Leeds United - Diego Llorente (CD, CDM)

Leeds United have announced the signing of Diego Llorente today (Thursday 24th September). Llorente was signed from Real Sociedad for a fee of around £18m, he last made an appearance for Sociedad 11 days ago, when they drew 1-1 with Valladolid. This signing is set to strengthen Leeds United’s defence in the Premier League, Llorente has agreed a 4 year deal at Elland Road which will be running until 2024.

Diego Llorente has spoken out on joining Leeds United: “I’m very happy to be here and I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and manager as soon as possible”

Wolves - Nelson Semedo (RB, RWB)

Wolves have revealed that they have signed Portuguese international Nelson Semedo on a 3 year deal with the possibility of a 2-year extension. The deal will last until June 2023 and if Wolves decide to extend the contract it will end in 2025. Semedo will play on the right-hand side for Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad. He started his career in Sintrense in the Portuguese third tier, he then signed for Benfica where he started to excel as an exciting full back, it wasn’t long until Spanish giants Barcelona got his signature. Under Barcelona, he has won multiple trophies including the La Liga title and the Champions League. Semedo was signed for an agreed fee of £38.8m.

Semedo spoke to the Wolves website on his move "I chose Wolves because it's a very good team that plays very good football” “Last year they did a very good season and it's a very important team in England, in also Europe. I hope this year we can do very good things."

Chelsea - Edouard Mendy (GK)

Chelsea has announced that Senegalese international goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy has signed a five-year contract. He will have to compete against the likes of Kepa and Caballero to have a regular start between the sticks. Mendy has joined Chelsea from Stade Rennais F.C. (Rennes), a professional club within Ligue 1.

Edouard Mendy has spoken to the Chelsea website on his move: ‘I am so excited to be joining Chelsea. It’s a dream for me to be a part of this exciting squad and to work with Frank Lampard and all of his coaching staff. I look forward to meeting my team-mates and can’t wait to get started.’

Arsenal - Alex Runarsson (GK)

The Icelandic international, Alex Runarsson has signed a four-year deal with Arsenal. The 25-year-old has joined Arsenal from Ligue 1 club Dijon. He made 13 appearances for them last season in all competitions and has made 62 appearances throughout his 3-year spell at the club. Runarsson has grown up supporting Arsenal in Iceland watching goalkeepers such as David Seamen and has always wanted to be as successful as they were.

Runarsson told the Arsenal official website: "I'm just extremely happy, extremely proud, it is a big day for me and my family. I can't wait to get started"

Tottenham - Gareth Bale (Loan) (RW, ST, RF)

Gareth Bale has signed a loan deal for the club he left in 2013 for Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur. He played in 2013 for Spurs and will be playing on a season-long deal. He has had a successful career at Real, scoring more than 100 goals and winning four Champions League trophies.

Bale has spoken out after resigning for Tottenham on a season-long deal: "It's nice to be back. It's such a special club to me. It's where I made my name”
