Manchester City has announced they have signed Ruben Dias from Benfica for an initial price of £62m. When the signing of Ruben Dias was announced, Benfica also announced the signing of the out of favour squad member Nicolas Otamendi for a set fee of €15m (£13.6m). This signing was subject to personal terms being agreed between player and club.

Man City has sought a right-sided center back since the departure of the City legend Vincent Kompany. The Manchester club has already spent £120m this transfer window on new defensive talent to try and boost their back-line.
