Ireland Esports becomes part of Global Esports Foundation portfolio

The Global Esports Foundation (GEF) have just acquired their latest member in Ireland Esports. Ireland Esports is the official governing body of all Irish competitive gaming. Being a part of the GEF, Ireland Esports will help create a global eSports ecosystem, also all Irish competitive gaming athletes will now be able to compete in the GEF World Championships.

Since being launched in 2019, the GEF have accepted representatives for over 55 different countries, they have not only accepted eSports governing boards they have also accepted other sporting federations including theWorld Squash Federation and the International Tennis Federation.

Board Member of Ireland Esports, Paula Prunty, shared her excitement in a release: “A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to ensure that Ireland has a governance structure in place for esports and this announcement is another step in that direction. We are looking forward to developing this exciting partnership and creating opportunities for Irish representation at GEF World Championships.”
