On Monday 4th May, the Global eSports Federation (GEF) has entered into a partnership with the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), the partnership will explore how sport can move and adapt to digital infrastructure, in a world currently being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The partnership will see the two corporations work together on areas within Transformation 2022, the Commonwealth Sports Movement's Strategic Plan. According to a statement published by the CGF and GEF they will be jointly focusing on conducting an analysis of eSports within the Commonwealth and see if this data will support and advance their vision. The joint development of the value based Commonwealth eSports strategy will be the main focus throughout the whole partnership.

The President of the Global Esports Federation, Chris Chan has spoken out on the partnership “We are honoured to embark on this strategic partnership and support the Commonwealth Games Federation.
