eSports series raises over $33,000 for Covid-19.
A fleet of racing drivers including six formula one drivers have raised over $33,000 (£26413.20) towards the $100,000 (£80040.00) they aim to raise. The 'Race for the World' is a six part series that is aiming to entertain fans during this unprecedented time. All proceeds will go to the World Health Organisation's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
The series will be spread over the course of three nights this week and hold qualifying and 25% distance races at randomised tracks. The rules and regulations for the series will be relaxed.
Many drivers that participated in the Virtual Grand Prix will be racing. The likes of Charles Leclerc and Renault’s junior Christian Lundgaard are likely to be racing in this series, alongside 18 other racers.
