Chicago Huntsman makes sponsorship deal with Popeyes

Chicago Huntsman a NRG eSports owned Call of Duty league franchise has recently partnered with American food chain Popeyes. The deal includes clothing sponsorship, where Popeyes branding will be present on the jersey of Chicago Huntsmen gamers, the collaboration will also include promotion and integration through the franchise’s social channels.

Chicago Huntsmen's Call of Duty: Warzone tournament titled Family Feud, will be the first event that the partnership between the two will be seen, with Popeyes acting as title sponsor for this tournament. The event will see six teams battling it out, while the tournament will be hosted by Team Summertime, a trio of content creators signed by NRG eSports.

Popeyes have looked to eSports as a way to get advertisement amidst this worldwide pandemic, COVID-19. As of yet eSports has been one of the only sports to withstand the virus, although there has been some alterations with the way tournaments are being played because of the nature of eSports and it being a virtual sport most to all tournaments can be played remotely, brands have been looking at the industry for marketing purposes.
