Championship to restart on the weekend of June 20th

The EFL has announced that the Championship will be restarting on the weekend of June 20th but will follow similar guidelines to the Premier League. The whole of the league will need to comply with all of the safety requirements and government guidelines which have been set out.

The Championship has got a plan to try and complete the league by the end of July. In the next 2 months all remaining games, the play offs and play off final will be played. The timeline has been set to try and finish the league in a similar time frame to that of the Premier League, this has been done to try and avoid any issues with promoting or relegating clubs. The Championship clubs have agreed to consider changing regulations for this section of the season to allow the use of up to 5 substitutes and to allow a total of 20 players in the dugout rather than 18.

Leeds United and West Brom are currently sitting in the automatic promotion places, while Charlton, Luton and Barnsley are sitting in the relegation places.
